The Project
Convention centre lakefront terrace
The Kongresshaus Zürich — the city's modernist convention and cultural centre — sits directly on Lake Zurich beside Sechseläutenplatz, the largest public square in the city. Its lakefront dining terraces contend with open-water glare and marine wind loads at genuine civic scale, serving convention crowds in the thousands.
The venue integrated giant Glatz Palazzo Noblesse parasols, wind-rated to 90 km/h and anchored permanently into concrete with heavy-duty ground sleeves. The natural anodised aluminium frames suit the building's modernist restraint, and the patented telescopic counter-motion mechanism closes each giant canopy cleanly over furniture between events.
It's the level of planning and engineering CSC Shade brings to municipal waterfronts, convention facilities, and high-capacity public venues across North America.
