On a Santorini cliffside terrace, the view is the product — and it comes with intense Aegean sun and strong maritime drafts. Centre-pole umbrellas were a non-starter: they block the panorama that fills the tables and are unstable in exposed coastal wind.

The design team specified the FIM Flexy Zen, a linear side-mast system whose dual posts sit along the terrace perimeter and suspend rectangular canopies directly over the dining area. Guests get complete shade with an uninterrupted line to the sea. Built from high-tensile powder-coated aluminium with stainless-steel fittings, the system handles coastal wind loads with minimal maintenance, and its tilt adjustment lets staff track the sun through the afternoon without moving a single table.
