The Project
High-altitude restaurant terrace
The AMERON Swiss Mountain Resort in Davos operates its Cantinetta restaurant terrace at serious altitude, where strong alpine gusts and cold shoulder-season evenings normally cut the outdoor season short. The brief: keep the terrace generating revenue beyond the summer window.
The resort installed giant Glatz Palazzo Noblesse parasols — telescopic centre-pole systems wind-rated to 90 km/h, built on reinforced anodised aluminium masts. This installation is fully optioned: radiant infrared heaters and dimmable LED lighting are integrated directly into the structural ribs, turning each parasol into a self-contained outdoor room with warmth, light, and weather protection from a single fixture.
For mountain resorts and four-season patios across Canada and the northern U.S., Davos is the proof case: fully equipped commercial shade converts a three-month terrace into a year-round asset.
